The Avalokitesvara Hall

The Avalokitesvara Hall

This hall enshrines the golden image of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva with the height of 10.75 meters carved by Mr. She Guo Ping, a living national treasure of China. Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is a Buddha who came down to the present world in order to save us sentient beings. The Bodhisattva appears in as many as 33 forms, saves the multitude, and leads them to the Pure Land. The transoms are adorned with carvings of each of the 33 forms of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and a pair of phoenixes, auspicious mythical birds, symbolizing a peaceful world, which lead one’s mind to enlightenment. The adjacent rooms on the left and right are decorated with the sculptures of the 28 attendants of Thousand-armed Avalokitesvara, and the Wind God and the Thunder God symbolizing the power of Mother Nature.

* This temple is not a tourist facility but a monastery to practice the original teachings of Lord Buddha.
