The Tathata Bridge

The Tathata Bridge.jpg

This granite bridge is modeled after the Togetsu Bridge in Arashiyama, Kyoto, one of the most renowned scenic places in Japan. The bridge is sustained with 48 bridge supports of genuine granite pillars, the largest of which is 0.9 meters in diameter and 3.6 meters in height.
This straight bridge with the total length of 141 meters expresses jikishin in Japanese, a straightforward mind eagerly aiming to reach the other shore of enlightenment from this present secular world filled with illusion. While crossing this bridge, people are to remove impurities in their minds and to prepare themselves to worship with pure minds.

* This temple is not a tourist facility but a monastery to practice the original teachings of Lord Buddha.
