The Ksitigarbha Hall

The Ksitigarbha Hall

Ksitigarbha is the Bodhisattva who has devoted and will continue to devote himself to saving sentient beings for an extremely long period of 5.67 billion years from the time of Lord Buddha’s nirvana to the advent of Maitreya Bodhisattva in this world in the far distant future. He goes around the six realms tirelessly day and night, and manifests himself in 48 forms to guide people to salvation by teaching the essence of Buddhism. Ksitigarbha is also known as a Bodhisattva protecting children.
The four sides of the hall are adorned with beautiful carvings of the 24 stories of filial piety and the 12 Chinese zodiac signs attached to the transoms, which represent moral principles and the eternal flow of time. This hall enshrines the image of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva sculptured by Mr. She Guo Ping, a living national treasure of China.

* This temple is not a tourist facility but a monastery to practice the original teachings of Lord Buddha.
